Serbs Intend to Begin Multi-Day Blockade of Border with Kosova

According to KosovaPress, the head of the Mitrovica District Association for Kosova has announced the initiation of a multi-day blockade of border crossings into Kosova today.
The spokesperson for the association tells that the blockade, organized by local associations from Kosova, will impact four out of five border crossings from central Serbia and Montenegro. The blockade is set to commence at 6:00 PM and will continue until the Kosova police forces withdraw from the northern region of Kosova. The spokesperson also noted that there is a request for KFOR to take control of northern Kosova.
Spokesperson tells that the blockades will remain in effect until the demands of the citizens are met. The crossings at Brnjak, Jarinja, and Merdare from central Serbia, as well as the Kulla crossing on the Peja-Rozhaja road from Montenegro, will be blocked. However, the Konçul crossing will not be obstructed at this time. Emergency vehicles and those with Serbian documents will be allowed to pass, while Serbian documents will not be recognized if Kosova documents are not accepted in central Serbia. The spokesperson also mentioned that at least 400 people will be stationed at each blocked crossing, according to above spokesperson.
In response, the Kosova Police have stated that no blockades will be enforced within territory of the Republic of Kosova.
