Strengthening Cooperation Between Albania and Kosovo to Enhance Prison Security

The enhancement of cooperation between Kosovo and Albania in the field of prison security was the focus of a meeting held in Pristina between the Director of Albanian Prisons, Klevis Qose, and the Head of the Correctional Service in Kosovo, Ismail Dibrani.
The Directorate of Prisons announced today that the meeting was also attended by Bill Sage, Global ICITAP Counterterrorism Advisor, and Frank Karam, Regional Advisor for Correctional Intelligence Units.
According to the press release, the meeting took place at the offices of the Correctional Service in Kosovo. It focused on security issues in the correctional institutions of both countries, emphasizing the sharing of experiences and best practices in prison management.
During this meeting, the importance of ICITAP’s support was highlighted, particularly in enhancing capacities, implementing best practices, and providing ongoing support.
As part of this support, important equipment for the prison system has been identified, including scanners, mobile phone detection cameras, and other security devices. ICITAP and INL continue to be key partners in the development and reform of the Prison System in Albania and the Correctional Service of Kosovo, providing indispensable support for the advancement of these institutions.
