Kurti and Vucic to Meet Today in Brussels

Kosovan Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic meet today (June 26) in Brussels for a new round of high-level dialogue. The meeting comes after nine months of tensions between the leaders of the two countries and will be hosted by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and the EU Special Representative for the Prishtinsa-Belgrade Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.
A day before the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti stated that the meeting with Vucic will serve to recap the dialogue process.
“I believe that, among other things, tomorrow’s meeting, both bilateral and trilateral, will serve to recap this three-year process. We will see where we stand and what ideas are for moving forward,” Kurti has stated.
Furthermore, Kurti stated that the basic agreement of February 27, 2023, and the Implementation Annex “is the European solution for good neighborhood, which has not been implemented “.
Kurti and Vucic met last in Brussels on September 14, 2023. Topic of that meeting was the implementation of the Agreement on the path to normalizing relations. However, that meeting ended without progress due to the conflicting positions of the parties.
