The EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, has met in Austria with the Foreign Ministers of Western Balkan countries.

The meeting was announced by Borrell himself through a post on social media platform X. They exchanged ideas and thoughts on cooperation between the European Union and the Western Balkans in foreign and security policy, as well as EU enlargement.

Building a more united Europe was a key theme of the meeting between Borrell and the Foreign Ministers of Western Balkan countries, including Minister Igli Hasani.

Throughout the day, Borrell will also hold a series of bilateral meetings with representatives from the Western Balkans.

“I am glad to meet with the Foreign Ministers of the Western Balkans, the ‘Friends of the Western Balkans’ group, and the ‘Danube Region Strategy’. We discussed how to build a more united Europe together. Thank you @a_schallenberg for hosting us in Austria these days,” wrote Borrell.
