President Bajram Begaj also held a meeting with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, during his stay in Skopje.

In this meeting, President Begaj congratulated Xhaferi on fulfilling his constitutional duties and the successful conduct of the recent elections in North Macedonia, which met all democratic standards, including rights that were uncontested.

President Begaj appreciated the dedication and pivotal role of Albanians in the state-building processes in North Macedonia, emphasizing that inter-state and inter-community cooperation is key to regional success and stability.

He described the relations between Albania and North Macedonia as excellent at the political level, while proposing their expansion into other areas of mutual interest such as economy, trade exchanges, culture, energy, and tourism.

President Begaj stressed the need for concerted efforts to advance projects initiated in these fields. He also appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in regional and international organizations.

“The foreign and security policies of Albania and North Macedonia are aligned with those of the European Union,” highlighted President Begaj.

President Begaj expressed confidence that both countries will continue on this path towards finalizing their joint journey, leading to EU membership.
