Kosova gives properties to Deçani Monastery, a condition for CoE membership; Rama greets the decision and encourages cooperation with the allies

The Government of Kosova demands that the properties be returned to the Monastery of Deçani, as part of the conditions required for the country’s membership in the Council of Europe.
Kosovar Prime Minister, Albin Kurti has asked the Cadastral Agency of Kosova to implement the Decision of the Constitutional Court in relation with the properties around the Monastery of Deçani.
“It has been made clear to the Government by the Parliamentary Assembly Committee, as well as by the QUINT states, that we must choose between two options: To implement the decision of the Constitutional Court and move forward with the membership in the Council of Europe or the removal of Kosova membership in the Council of Europe(CoE). Today we told the Cadastral Agency of Kosova to implement the decision of the Constitutional Court,” Kosovar Prime Minister Kurti stated at the Government meeting.
The decision of the government of Kosova was welcomed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who says that Kosova is implementing the decisions of the Constitutional Court and should work closely with its allies.
“I fully support the decision of the Government of the Republic of Kosova to implement the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the Monastery of Deçani. I encourage the leadership of Kosova to continue working with our common key allies to demonstrate that the Republic of Kosova is indeed a growing and reliable partner of the Euro-Atlantic Community,” writes Rama.
