Skopje Summit, O’Brien: Integration of region in the internal market

The US and the EU share a common goal for the region: to move beyond divisions, embrace a united future, and integrate into a single market. This collective effort aims to foster economic development and unlock the full potential of the countries involved.

For James O’Brien, the US Assistant Secretary of State, the EU’s plan to develop and integrate the region into a single market is a strategy that not only serves citizens but also brings countries closer to the EU on a practical level.

“With a little effort, we can make things better. The US supports the aspirations for integration; you have never been closer to the EU. Progress brings us even closer to the goals of integration. The EU is constantly innovating, and this growth plan differs from previous offers. This plan aims to complete practical work, where every country will feel the benefits in their economy and the movement of people and good,” emphasized the US Assistant Secretary of State O’Brien.

Moreover, “The US supports this idea and has invested $200 million in aid for this region, and we will remain committed. The next goal is to include the country in the single market. We must identify visible initiatives for the benefit of citizens in the region, such as the installation of green strips that will reduce waiting times for trucks at customs points,” stated O’Brien.
