The General Director for Neighborhood, Negotiations and Enlargement of the European Union, Gert Jan Koopman, has announced that from January 2024 the citizens of Kosovo will move freely in the Schengen area without the need to obtain a visa.

Through a post on the “X” platform, Koopman said that from January 2024 visa liberalization will become a reality for Kosovo.

‘Glad that as of January 2024, visa liberalization will become a reality for Kosovo. Citizens of Kosovo will be able to travel across the EU without a visa for up to 90 days. This will help greatly to foster closer the ties  and facilitate people to people exchanges between EU and Kosovo’ writes Koopman.
