The Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz has stated that work is being done to resolve the situation between Kosova and Serbia, described by him as “difficult”.

In his speech at the joint press conference with the Greek Prime Minister, Sholz said that in all disputes between the countries of the Balkan region, Berlin favors the EU membership process.

“We are working hard to resolve the really difficult situation between Kosova and Serbia. We are always on the side of the membership process,” Scholz was quoted.

The latter together with several other European leaders have met earlier in Brussels with the Prime Minister of Kosova, Albin Kurti and the Serbian President Aleksander Vucic, to find a way to normalize relations and to implement the agreements between the two countries.

A draft statute of the Association of Serbian-majority municipalities was presented at the meeting, which Kurti accepted, while requesting the signing of the Brussels and Ohrid agreements, which Vucic refused to do.
