Meeting before the Berlin Summit, German Foreign Minister will ask Kosova and Serbia to reduce tensions

The German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, who arrives in Tirana today. The visit of the German minister comes in the context of the growing tensions between Kosova and Serbia.

Minister Berbok has planned to meet the counterparts from Prishtina and Belgrade, who will gather today in Tirana within the framework of the Berlin Summit.

“During a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Western Balkans in Albania, Baerbok will talk with the leaders from Kosova and Serbia and will continue to ask both sides to avoid the escalation of the conflict,” announced the spokesperson of the German Foreign Ministry.

The meetings in Albania are part of the “Berlin Process”, which began in 2014 to promote cooperation between the six countries of the Western Balkans.

The summit will be preceded today by a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Western Balkans and of the states participating in the Berlin Process, representatives of the EU and regional organizations too.
