US State Department spokesperson: We have not yet verified whether Serbia has withdrawn the army from the border with Kosova

The spokesperson of the United States Department of State, Matthew Miller, has stated that the United States has not yet verified the withdrawal of Serbian personnel and military equipment from the border with Kosova.
“We have been informed that Serbia has withdrawn the equipment of military personnel from the border. We have not yet independently verified it and will seek further confirmation, but if true, that would be a welcome step,” Miller said during the State Department press conference.
He pointed out that Washington is worried about the increase in tensions in the north of Kosova and called for the parties to return to the dialogue mediated by the European Union.
“We continue to be concerned about the cycle of increasing tensions and sporadic violence in the north of Kosova and we encourage both sides to return to the dialogue facilitated by the European Union”, he said.
Meanwhile, Aleksandër Vucic told CNN that the US warnings about the gathering of the Serbian army on the border with Kosova “were not completely correct”.
On Friday, the spokesman of the National Security Council of the White House, John Kirby, expressed concern about the increase of military troops near the border with Kosova.
Kirby described the situation as an “unprecedented staging of Serbian artillery, tanks and mechanized infantry units” on the border with Kosova, calling it a “very destabilizing development.”
