Tensions in Kosova, Lajçak gives details from the meeting with the diplomats of France, Germany and Italy

The envoy of the European Union for the Kosova-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak held a meeting with the US emissary for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, and with the chief diplomatic advisers from Germany and France, Emmanuel Bonne and Jens Plotner.

Lajçak writes in a post that they discussed the situation in the north of Kosova, and the next steps in the implementation of the Agreement for the normalization of the situation.

“Intensive and very substantial consultations with chief diplomatic advisers Bone, Plotner, Talo and Escobar. We discussed the next steps in the implementation of the Agreement on the road to normalization and the situation in the north of Kosova. Thank you for the full support,” writes Lajçak.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, the Kosova Police was attacked by a group of masked and armed persons, as a result of which officer Afrim Bunjaku lost his life and several others were injured. According to Kosova authorities, four attackers lost their lives, while six people were arrested.

The US and the EU have condemned the murder of the Kosova police officer, demanding the resumption of dialogue between the two countries.
