Slovenian Foreign Minister, Fajon says that the Western Balkans countries should seize the momentum

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, has stated that the countries of the Western Balkans should use this political moment for the EU enlargement.
“We have a unique political momentum. Therefore, this date is something that we can start to think differently. We have the maturity and creativity or political creativity. The message that the EU will be ready by 2030 is historic if we look at it from an optimistic point of view,” Fajon declared at the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia.
Fajon’s statement was welcomed by the representatives of the region’s countries, who asked for additional EU support.
The representative of the European Union for the Western Balkans and the Kosova-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, was in the same line too.
“We are fully focused on enlargement. The message to the region is don’t miss this opportunity… You do your homework and we do our homework. This is how I feel the momentum,” Lajcak was saying.
On the other hand, Albania’s Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Megi Fino said that the statements of the President of the EU Council, Charles Michel, provide additional motivation for the Balkans.
“The process has never been proper. It has been either too technical or too political with the bilateral issues impeding action, but we are seeing that it has changed. From a positive viewpoint, we have full support regarding the European integration process and now the process is going on,” Megi Fino was quoted as saying.
