Greece accepts Albania’s help, firefighters and vehicles from the Armed Forces leave to extinguish the fires in the neighboring country

Just a few hours after Greece had on Wednesday rejected the help offered by Albania to put out the fires, which for weeks have created a dramatic situation in the neighboring country, it was forced to accept it, as the developments on the ground continue be quite problematic.
The news has been confirmed for RTSH by the National Agency of Civil Protection, which specifies that 58 firefighting forces, 10 vehicles from the Armed Forces and other operational structures of the Civil Defense System, the firefighting structures from Korça Municipality, Dropull, Maliq and Gjirokastër have already headed towards the Greek border to help Greece.
The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, stated that he had responded to the previous request for help.
“A team of 58 officers and 10 vehicles from the Armed Forces and other operational structures of the Civil Defense System Albanian, more specifically, the firefighting structures from the Municipality of Korça, Dropull, Maliq and Gjirokastër were deployed close to the neighboring state, in aid of Greek colleagues, awaiting confirmation from the Greek side for intervention in the areas where they need it,” announces Albanian Ministry of Defense.
