The spokesperson of the Government of Kosovo, Përparim Kryeziu, has clarified that Prime Minister Albin Kurti has informed the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, that he will not be able to go to the informal meeting of the leaders of the region in Tirana, after months ago he confirmed his participation in a conference in Crete, Greece, where the panel for the Western Balkans is on exactly the same day.

Kryeziu wrote on Facebook that a week ago the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti was invited by the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama for an informal lunch with the European Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi in Tirana, where the other prime ministers of the Western Balkans were also invited to participate.

“Prime Minister Kurti has informed Prime Minister Rama that he will not be able to go this time since months ago he confirmed his participation in a conference in Crete, Greece, where the panel for the Western Balkans is exactly on the same day and at the same time. Of course, Prime Minister Kurti will participate in the Berlin Process Summit that will be held in Tirana, the date of which is known: October 16, 2023,” he writes.
