Balkan tour/Kurti to Rama: If the joint meeting does not take place, there will be no other meetings

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that he has asked his counterpart from Albania, Edi Rama, to hold the joint meeting of the two governments that was canceled a few weeks ago.

Kurti declared that if the joint meeting between the governments of Albania and Kosovo is not held, there will be no other meetings between them.

“If Prime Minister Rama insists on canceling the meeting, I will stick to the position I told you that for meetings between the two of us, we have direct contacts. We meet very often.

The Kosovo-Albania relationship is not languishing, nor is the peaceful democracy in the Balkans because the prime ministers do not meet, but because the cancellation of the joint meeting between the two governments was canceled without reason.

Therefore, I consider a joint meeting between the two governments reasonable, but not other meetings”,Kurti said.

In the Balkan tour that he will carry out as part of the next Summit of the Berlin Process, Prime Minister Rama would stay one night in Pristina, but his counterpart from Kosovo, Kurti emphasized that if the meeting between the two governments is not held and the 13 agreements are not signed, scheduled to be signed at the canceled meeting, then the meeting between them will not take place.

“I am in direct contact with Edi Rama. I know that he will come on a visit to Prishtina as part of the Balkan tour for the preparation of the next summit of the Berlin Process in the middle of October.

I kindly asked him that since he will stay for 2 days and one night, we should also hold the meeting of the 2 governments, which was unreasonably canceled.

We had made all the preparations, the 13 agreements have remained in the drawer. Every lost day is a loss for the citizens, I proposed to Rama that since he is coming, we should hold a joint meeting of the two governments”, Kurti said.
