Measures against Kosova, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council, Bregu does not exclude the suspension of visa liberalization agreement

The European Union’s enforced measures against Kosova will not have an effect on the meetings that will be organized by the Regional Cooperation Council, headed by Majlinda Bregu.
Asked on the show “No Censorship”, she confirmed her willingness to treat Kosova as an equal, but she cannot guarantee that this will also apply to the meetings co-organized with the EU.
“Kosova is a member of the Council (RCC). We will invite Kosova in every format and activity organized by RCC. In the event that we are co-organizers with the EU, as happened in the meeting two days ago for Digital Europe, we will insist on our right to have all member countries of the Regional Cooperation Council present at the meeting.” Mrs. Bregu avoided comments about the escalation of the situation, in relation to Kosova, although she affirmed that Albanians are sorry for the course that events are taking.
“I wish that the measures taken will be for a short period, but these are issues that I cannot officially comment on. Serbia-Kosova dialogue goes through Brussels. I would very much like that, after the summer period, Kosova will be in all the meetings and organizations, since, starting from September, they are getting ready from the Berlin Process to the annual report that Brussels makes on the integration process”.
Asked by journalist Elona Meço, if the escalation could go as far as cancellation of visa liberalization agreement, Mrs. Bregu saw the glass as half full.
“I hope not, because of the return of the dialogue and the respect of the agreements signed between Serbia and Kosova with the mediation of the EU.” – said Mrs. Bregu, who points out the factors that are in their power not to promote the suspension of the visa liberalism agreement.
“This is in the hands of the countries that should return to the Dialogue table, Kosova and Serbia.” – said Majlinda Bregu in the interview for the show “Pa Censure” on RTSH.
