NATO is taking the events in the north of Kosova very seriously

The NATO spokeswoman, Oana Lungescu, stated that they are taking the events in the north of Kosova very seriously. She emphasized that NATO is taking all necessary measures to ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosova.

“The NATO Mission’s commitment to implementing its mandate is unwavering, as demonstrated by the additional deployment of 500 troops. We remind all parties once again of their obligations to KFOR according to the Military Technical Agreement, including respect for the administrative border line, the procedures for the Kosova Police and the 2013 Agreement for the deployment of the Kosova Security Forces in the north. These obligations are designed to ensure action coordinated, avoid escalation and maintain a safe environment,” she wrote on Twitter.

On Wednesday (June 14), three border officers were kidnapped by Serbian forces during a patrol on the border line in the north of Kosova. The police have announced that the police unit has been on duty deep within the territory of Kosova to prevent the use of illegal roads. The three police officers kidnapped by Serbian forces on Friday (June 16) have been held in custody.

Meanwhile, the United States of America, Great Britain, and Germany have called for the immediate release of three Kosova police officers, arrested in the north by Serbian forces.
