US State Department: The three Kosova police officers should be released unconditionally

The US State Department has called on Kosova and Serbia to take immediate steps to avoid the escalation of tensions, which includes the unconditional release of three Kosova policemen detained by Serbia, according to “Reuters”.

“We believe that Kosova and Serbia should take immediate steps to reduce tensions,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters.

The officer’s detention last Wednesday, is the latest in a series of developments that have heightened tensions between Kosova and Serbia, raising fears of a resumption of violence between the former wartime enemies.
