President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, to address the European Parliament tomorrow

At the invitation of the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, will address the European Parliament tomorrow (June 14).
This is the first time that a President of the Republic of Kosovo, as an independent state, will address the plenary session of the European Parliament.
As announced by the presidency of Kosovo, President Vjosa Osmani, in her speech before the deputies of the European Parliament, will speak about the achievements of Kosovo and its path towards membership in the European Union.
She will express the gratitude of the citizens of Kosovo for the support that the European Parliament has offered to Kosovo since the 90s”, the announcement of the Presidency states.
During her stay in Strasbourg, where the session of the European Parliament is to be held, President Osmani will hold meetings with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, and then she will also meet with the leaders of the main political groups represented in the European Parliament.
During her stay in Strasbourg, President Osmani will also meet representatives of the Council of Europe.
Kosovo submitted its application for membership in the Council of Europe in May 2022, shortly after the exclusion of Russia from this organization, following the aggression in Ukraine, but Serbia continues to oppose Kosovo’s membership in this organization.
