KFOR: There were criminal groups that tried to attack the soldiers in the protests in the north

The spokesperson of the KFOR, Colonel Andrea Gallieni spoke about the recent developments in the north of the country, stressing that they do not have a deadline for how long they will stay in the northern municipalities.
According to him, until such a situation exists in the north, KFOR troops will be present.
Col. Gallieni also said that on May 29, KFOR soldiers were involved in a violent protest, which according to him, it was clear that there were criminal groups trying to attack the peacekeeping troops.
“Many soldiers of the Italian-Hungarian contingent were wounded. At the beginning there were 11 from the Italian contingent and 19 from the Hungarian contingent. In the following days more appeared with minor injuries. These injuries were not life-threatening and after they recovered they have been sent to their countries to receive medical treatment,” he added.
