Kurti phone call with Borrell: To intensify the dialogue for the full implementation of the Basic Agreement

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, had a telephone conversation with the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, regarding the tensions in the north of Kosovo.

In a post on the Twitter social network, Kurti guaranteed that the elected mayors of the municipalities in the north will provide services to all citizens.

Furthermore, during the conversation with Borrell, the Prime Minister considered the intensification of the dialogue for the full implementation of the Basic Agreement as quite important.

“I had a phone call with Josep Borrell regarding current issues, including the post-elections in the four municipalities in the north. He emphasized that the elected mayors will provide services to all citizens. It is important to intensify the dialogue for the full implementation of the Basic Agreement”, Kurti writes.

This conversation between Kurti-Borrell comes at a time when the situation in the north of Kosovo is quite tense, due to the election of 3 mayors of municipalities in Zveçan, Zubin Potok and Leposaviq, who are opposed by the Serbs in the north.
