The head of Spanish diplomacy started the Balkan tour, he will also visit Albania

On April 12, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Jose Manuel Albares, , started in Belgrade the tour to Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and North Macedonia, with the message that Spain, after taking the presidency of the European Union (EU) on 1 July, will support the efforts of these countries for EU membership.
During his tour in Southeast Europe, Albares will sign memorandums of understanding, with each of the four countries, to strengthen cooperation in the European integration process – reports the Spanish portal La Cerca.
In Belgrade, on Wednesday, Albarez and the Minister of European Integration of Serbia, Tanja Miscevic, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two ministries, announced the Government of Serbia.
The portal La Cerca writes that the head of Spanish diplomacy plans to be informed about the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina during the trip, but this information has not been officially confirmed.
Spain is one of the five EU countries that have not recognized Kosovo’s independence.
On April 13, Albarez will travel from Belgrade to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he will visit the library built with the funds of Spain.
On Friday, he will meet in Tirana with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, Olta Xhaçka, while then in Skopje he will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia, Bujar Osmani.
