The American ambassador in Belgrade, Christopher Hill, is confident that the Ohrid Agreement between Kosovo and Serbia will positively affect the entire Balkan region. According to him, the agreement should be recorded in history as it brings the normalization of relations between the two countries.

“Maybe it’s too early to tell. I hope that the Ohrid Agreement will go down in history. On one hand, as the point from which the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina began and made borders unite people, not divide them. Also, it will be a turning point from which we started dealing with economic issues in the first place and economic cooperation”, said Hill.

However, it is stated that the US would like the borders of the Balkans to be according to the concept of “Open Balkan” to bring people closer to each other.

Hill says the US will be committed to helping different parts of the region find their way forward.
