Ukrainian MP appeals to all the countries to recognize Kosovo’s independence

Ukraine has not recognized Kosovo’s independence, but in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko defended Kosovo.
Goncharenko’s speech was shared by the British journalist, Tim Judah, an excellent connoisseur of developments in the Western Balkans.
This intervention of the Ukrainian legislator, Judah described as quite positive, and even stated that Kosovo has surprisingly found a lawyer for its case.
Goncharenko repeated a statement made before regarding the recognition of Kosovo, this time he argued that it is also in the interest of Serbia and its citizens.
“First of all, I want to appeal to all my colleagues, to those countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo’s independence to do so. Ukraine, my country is one of them, I sent the draftlaw to the Ukrainian Parliament to recognize the independence of Kosovo and I am sure that this will happen very soon, because this is the reality and we have to call things as they are. This is an independent state, and this is already a reality, this has happened. And it is in the interest of everyone on this continent to accept the reality and move forward, and I want to turn to the Serbs now, and to Serbia, and say that it is in the best interest of Serbia to do so,” said Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko
Goncharenko further advised Serbia to act as Germany did after the First World War, and move forward by not hindering Kosovo anymore.
