Chollet visits Prishtina

The senior adviser of the US State Department, Dorek Chollet visits Prishtina today, in the frame of efforts to achieve a final agreement between Kosova and Serbia.
During his visit to Kosova, Chollet meets the heads of state and the heads of the opposition parties. US State Department adviser first meets President Vjosa Osmani, then Prime Minister Kurti and others.
A day before, Chollet said that this is a very important moment for the region, especially regarding relations between Kosova and Serbia. He also spoke about the tensions in the north.
“During the last few weeks, there has unfortunately been an increase in tensions between them. It is good news that we have seen the barricades removed, we have seen the border points reopen between Kosova and Serbia.
That’s good news. I hope we have not spent the last few weeks focused on this crisis, but on the EU-mediated dialogue, which we, the United States, fully support. It is something that my colleagues and I will talk about when we are in the region,” Chollet was quoted.
As part of his visit to the Balkans, Chollet visits Skopje, Prishtina and then Belgrade.
