Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue/ US Ambassador in Belgrade: In January we will start concrete steps towards a political solution

The ambassador of the United States of America in Serbia, Christopher Hill, while focusing on the tensions in the north of Kosovo, has stated that it is important to hurry towards a political solution. Hill emphasized the undertaking of the necessary political steps for the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo. According to him, real efforts for this dialogue should start in January.
“What we want to see is a political way to calm everything down, to return it to a normal situation. These are big challenges and meanwhile we have a crisis. First we have to overcome this crisis, not allow happening bad things, not tolerating violence, not letting people get hurt. What’s important in the negotiations is to seize the moment toward a political solution. And I think we’ll see efforts in that direction in January, when everyone come back from vacation. I think we’re going to see a lot of activity with efforts to take political steps in the dialogue process to move forward,” Hill stated.
