Tensions continue in the North of Kosovo. Leaders of opposition political parties in Kosovo ask the government to coordinate actions with Western allies to overcome the crisis in northern Kosovo, after the withdrawal of Serbian employees from all local institutions due to disagreements with the government’s decision to convert car license plates issued by Serbia.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that Serbia is trying to mask the rejection of the Franco-German initiative by trying to destabilize the situation in the north of Kosovo.  The United States, the European Union and NATO have called on Kosovo and Serbia to engage in dialogue to ease tensions on the ground and to continue the process of normalizing relations between them. The United States and the European Union demand that the Serbs return to the institutions and that Serbia abide by the agreements, while Kosovo postpones the deadline for the conversion of car license plates and begins the implementation of the agreement on the establishment of the Association of Serb-majority municipalities.
