“Berlin Process”, Western Balkan leaders sign 3 agreements

The six leaders of the Western Balkan countries have signed 3 different agreements this Thursday as part of the “Berlin Process” summit. These are agreements that provide for free movement with identity cards, the recognition of university degrees and the recognition of qualifications for three professions: doctors, dentists and architects.
At the “Berlin Process” summit, the focus was on the energy crisis and the alternative ways that must be found to ensure it. In addition to the heads of the countries of the Western Balkans, the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, also are attending this summit hosted by Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
-Free movement within the 6 countries of the Western Balkans: After signing, you can only move with identity cards within the region. Currently, Albania has this agreement only with the 3 countries that are part of the Open Balkans, but now this movement will be possible only with identity cards in the other 3 countries of the Western Balkans.
-Recognition of mutual diplomas between 6 countries of the region
-Employment of free professions: The third agreement deals with some professions that are categorized as free professions. After the agreement, this category of professionals will be able to be easily employed in the 6 countries of the Western Balkans.
