Mevlut Çavuşoğlu in Belgrade: Turkey supports “Open Balkans”, a bridge between the region and the European Union!

Mevlut Çavuşoğlu, the foreign minister of Turkey, present at the Open Balkans summit in Belgrade, said that Turkey supports this initiative and considers it as a bridge between the region and the European Union.
“We see this initiative as a bridge between the Balkans and the EU. Enlargement in the past has been the EU’s most successful policy, but now the union has turned its eyes on itself. No one can say a reason why Albania and North Macedonia waited so long. I hope their experience is different from ours. Turkey’s membership is politicized. I hope that more countries will join the Open Balkans. The Balkans must take control of its own destiny. We will support every effort for the well-being of the region. I wish you success’, said the Turkish diplomat, Mevlut Çavuşoğlu.
