Kosovo-Serbia agreement, Borrell: The crisis could erupt on September 1, the issue of license plates can be resolved

High Representative of the EU for Foreign Policy, Joseph Borrell, stated during an interview for ORF that the crisis could erupt on September 1 if there was no Kosovo-Serbia agreement. Borrell also sees the possibility of an agreement between the two countries on license plates.
“We operate in crisis prevention mode. The crisis could have erupted on September 1 if we had not reached an agreement on crossing the borders. This is good news,” he explained. He indicated that the issue of the signs is still open. I am convinced that we can solve this too”, said Borrell.
On August 27, Borrell gave the good news of reaching an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia on identification documents. According to the agreement, Kosovo Serbs, as well as all other citizens, will be able to travel freely between Kosovo and Serbia, using their identity cards.
