The US Department of State has reacted after the agreement reached between Serbia and Kosovo on the recognition of documents for citizens. Department of State says that dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is a channel that will ensure that the two countries reach comprehensive agreements and these agreements will be reached through dialogue and will make it possible for both countries to start the EU integration process.

“These issues are being addressed through EU-facilitated dialogue, which the United States supports. We believe that the Dialogue is a channel and a mechanism through which Serbia and Kosovo reach a comprehensive agreement that will end with the normalization of relations between the two countries that will unlock the European future for both countries”, says Department of State to Express Newspaper.

With the mediation of the EU, Department of State states that it expects that by the end of the month the two countries will find a way to continue the dialogue in a peaceful way and reach a solution to the ‘conflicts’.

Kosovo and Serbia reached an agreement on identification documents a day ago. Serbia has recognized Kosovo’s documents, meaning that citizens will travel freely using their documents.
