Identification documents/ Kosovo and Serbia reach a compromise, Borrel: We have an agreement!

Kosovo and Serbia have reached an agreement regarding identification documents. The news was announced by the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, who, through a tweet, wrote that Kosovo and Serbia reached an agreement on the free movement of Kosovo and Serbian citizens using their ID cards.

“We have an agreement. Kosovo Serbs, as well as all other citizens, will be able to travel freely between Kosovo and Serbia, using their identity cards. The EU just received guarantees from Prime Minister Kurti about this. This is a European solution. We congratulate both leaders for this decision and their leadership,” Borell wrote on Twitter.

After reaching the agreement, the special envoy of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, also reacted. He thanked the American special envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, for the commitment shown in reaching the agreement.

“I thank the American special envoy Escobar and the American diplomacy, for their strong commitment in support of the facilitated dialogue”, Lajçak writes on Twitter.
