The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg will meet on August 17 with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. After the meeting that will be held at the NATO headquarters, Prime Minister Kurti and Stoltenberg will give a joint press conference.

Likewise, the Secretary General of NATO will hold a press conference with Serbian President Vucic, to provide details about the meeting.

The meeting comes after tensions in the north of Kosovo on the evening of July 31, after the decision of the Kosovo government to establish reciprocity for Serbian license plates and IDs, a decision that was then postponed for 30 days. Prime Minister Kurti announced on August 1 that in the north of Kosovo there were gunshots and 9 barricades stopping citizens with vehicles and pedestrians. The meeting with Stoltenberg comes a day before Kurti and Vucic meet with the European chief diplomat Josep Borrell.
