EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Oliver Varhelyi believes the first intergovernmental conference with Skopje and Tirana could be held in a few days.

At a meeting of the interparliamentary committee Varhelyi said all obstacles have been overcome.

“We are almost there. Now is the time for all actors to take the final step. I have high hopes that the intergovernmental conferences with Northern Macedonia and Albania can be held in a few days. Both countries have implemented everything that has been asked of them and are ready. We should be ready too. “Now we have a solution on the table, approved by the Bulgarian parliament, so all obstacles have been overcome,” said Oliver Varhelyi, commissioner for enlargement.
