The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Nikos Dendias. During the meeting, Osmani said that Kosovo and Greece share the same Euro-Atlantic values, so he asked for Greek support for membership in the Council of Europe, as a guarantee not only for the state of Kosovo, but also for the region.

Citing the risk of destabilization of the region by Russia, Osmani said that Kosovo is fully in line with EU and US sanctions related to Russian aggression in Ukraine.

The announcement of the Presidency states that “Osmani has expressed her readiness to deepen further cooperation, with the hope that soon the decision to recognize the independence of the Republic of Kosovo from Greece will be formalized.”
