Researchers from Albania, Kosovo, and other Western Balkan countries have discussed the security of the region, in a conference organized by the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University in Durrës in cooperation with the University of Nice “Cote D’Azur”.
The organizer of the conference, the head of the Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Political and Legal Sciences, Gentiana Kraja, said the conference comes at a time when the issue of security in the Balkans is even more discussed due to the war in Ukraine.
“The aim was to encourage researchers towards political, social and economic issues that currently concern the Western Balkans and, consequently, the EU integration process of the countries of this region. The Conference is attended by scholars from Albania, Kosovo, Western Balkan countries. “The issue of security in the Western Balkans was chosen as a topic much talked about and discussed, but also for the continuation of the European integration process,” said Kraja.
At this conference, UAMD professor and political science expert Arian Dedej presented his study, who says that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine threatens to return the Western Balkans 20 years later, while adding that our country is not endangered in case of escalation. of the conflict in question. For scholar Arian Dedej, Balkan integration into the EU would guarantee a more secure region.
