No agreement reached between Kosovo-Serbia on license plates

The dialogue between the chief negotiators of Kosovo and Serbia, Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovic, in Brussels, has ended without an agreement on license plates.
The EU representative for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, announced that no agreement was reached at today’s meeting on the issue of vehicle license plates.
“Today’s meetings of the chief negotiators in Brussels have just ended. The results are mixed. Unfortunately, no license plate agreement was reached, but we have made progress on other issues including energy. The work will continue “, writes Lajçak.
The parties have not reached an agreement on a long-term solution to the issue of vehicle license plates, although the six-month mandate for the working groups to reach an agreement has expired.
The interim agreement between the two countries on license plates, reached on September 30 last year, provides for the sticking of state symbols on car license plates when they cross into each other’s territory.
Meanwhile, it is expected that until there are no new agreements, the sticky paper regime will continue to be implemented.
