Lajcak considers the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU as an urgency

Due to the new circumstances created by the war in Ukraine, the EU envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, said that the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the European Union is something urgent. He made this statement after a meeting he had with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani.
“The current geopolitical situation confirms the urgency and importance of the full integration of the Western Balkans into the EU,” Lajcak wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Osmani said that there is no time to lose for EU integration to take place. “It’s more likely than ever before and there is no time to lose. “We agreed that enlargement is a security policy and that there is a need for tangible results on the Western Balkans’ path to membership.”
