President Ilir Meta in an interview with the Montenegrin state television RTCG said that he hopes that the problems with Bulgaria will be overcome by June, in order to pave the way for the integration of Albania and North Macedonia.

“We had to make faster progress in the European integration process. We wish that within these six months negotiations for Albania and North Macedonia are opened! We are working to overcome the obstacle of relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia. We very much hope that this obstacle will be overcome! “I believe that Albania and North Macedonia have no issues, except for an obstacle in the bilateral relations they are working with the new government in Bulgaria, and that I hope will be overcome by June!”, said Meta.

The head of state stressed that non-liberalization of visas for the citizens of Kosovo is an injustice and discrimination.

“At the same time, we strongly want and demand visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo, as this is an injustice and discrimination! Kosovo has met all the conditions for visa liberalization and of course we wish everyone to progress in this process! There are some key issues such as the Serbia-Kosovo dialogue, and we want  to have a successful conclusion of this dialogue as soon as possible, with mutual recognition by both countries!

Secondly, the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue will depend a lot, I think, on Serbia’s willingness to show a sincere commitment to join the European Union, because it is not just a matter of gaining funding from the European Union, but also of demonstrating European values, not only within the country, but also in relations with neighbors,”said the President.
