The Special Envoy of the State Department, Gabriel Escobar, in an interview with the news agency “Nova”, said that the purpose of the visit to Kosovo and Serbia is to encourage the parties to continue the dialogue mediated by the European Union.

Escobar said that the parties should rise above the differences they have and continue on their path towards integration into the European Union.

The US envoy also stressed that one of the other reasons for his visit to Pristina and Belgrade is the strengthening of US cooperation with Kosovo and Serbia.

Gabriel Escobar together with Miroslav Lajçak will pay an official visit to Kosovo on January 31 and will stay for two days. They will then travel to Belgrade.
