Kosovo should be included in the ‘Open Balkans’ initiative, as this is essential for Germany. This is the official opinion of the German state, expressed through the German Minister of State for Europe and Climate, Anna Lührmann, in an interview with Deutsche Welle.

‘I understand that there is a great desire to cooperate in the region. At the same time, initiatives that want to strengthen regional cooperation must be truly comprehensive, which means that countries like Kosovo must be included. This is essential for us. The instruments of the Berlin process are very appropriate for this. An agreement on a common regional market was reached in Sofia. “This agreement must now finally be implemented,” said the German minister.
