Kurti: Dialogue with Serbia useful, I expect invitations for a meeting next year

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the dialogue process with Serbia in Brussels has not been useless and that Kosovo has reached a good agreement there.
In a press conference after the government meeting, Kurti said that the agreement on reciprocity with Serbia on the issue of vehicle license plates marks an achievement for Kosovo, although there were only two high-level meetings between him and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. As for reaching a final agreement, Kurti said that Serbia should change its position.
The Prime Minister said that he is ready for dialogue and that he expects invitations for meetings next year.
“It is true that only two meetings took place in 2021 between me and the president of Serbia, but the negotiation process in Brussels was not useless. There we reached an agreement regarding the reciprocity of license plates. Now for the legally binding agreement, Serbia has to change incomparably more, while when the meetings take place in Brussels, it does not depend on me, since I have expressed my readiness. I believe that next year there will be relevant invitations for dialogue, which contributes to lasting peace, long-term stability, regional security, and where the beneficiaries are the citizens, not the politicians,” said Kurti.
