Kosovo in energy crisis! Expects help and support from Albania

The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, has called on the citizens to continue saving electricity while the country is facing a crisis. She said that as ministers they are in constant communication with the Government of North Macedonia and especially with that of Albania to seek support.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has announced that the Government of Kosovo will allocate the necessary amount to cover energy imports and that the maximum will be done to maintain a regular supply.

Kurti has indicated that two units of the Kosova B power plant are currently out of order, while he said that a similar situation was last week when three units of Kosovo A were out of order due to breakdowns.

“The energy crisis that has affected all countries in the region and the world has come to us. Kosovo depends on imports to keep the lights on. Two units of power plant B are currently out of order, we had a similar situation last week but we managed it. In this comment we have somewhere around 390 megawatts of output. Kostti has successfully managed the situation so far, despite obstacles from Serbia. The government will allocate the necessary amount for the price of imports.”
He has said that it is necessary to save energy. Meanwhile, he has criticized the former governments for the current situation.

The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, has shown that only during November and early December, 12 million euros were spent on energy imports as planned for one year.
