Prime Minister Kurti met in Brussels with EU High Representatives Borrell, Miroslav lajčák and Oliver Varhelyi

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met in Brussels with the Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood of the European Union, Oliver Varhelyi.

As announced by the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, in this meeting was discussed the relationship between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union (EU) in the context of the Stabilization and Association Agreement, as part of Kosovo’s EU integration process, with emphasis on ongoing commitment  and progress that Kosovo has made on justice reform and the fight against organized crime.

Prime Minister Kurti praised the continued support of the European Commission for reforms and reiterated the request that member states within the EU Council take a positive decision on visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo.

In the meeting that precedes the fourth meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council between the EU and Kosovo, were also the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, as well as the Ambassador of Kosovo in Brussels, Astrit Zema.

During his visit to Brussels, for the fourth meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council, Kurti also met with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and the EU Special Representative for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and other regional issues of the Western Balkans, Miroslav Lajçakk.

In this joint meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo for European Integration, Development and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, where the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia and its future were discussed, Kurti reconfirmed the readiness and commitment of the Government of Kosovo for the European agenda.
