Rutte: Stability in Kosovo, Bosnia, and Serbia Is in Everyone’s Interest

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized that stability in Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia is essential and in everyone’s interest. He expressed confidence that the U.S. remains fully committed to NATO, with no expected dramatic policy changes.
NATO’s KFOR mission in Kosovo includes over 4,600 troops from 28 countries, primarily from Italy, the U.S., Hungary, and Turkey. NATO increased its presence in 2023 following tensions in northern Kosovo.
Commenting on Kosovo’s February 9 elections, Rutte noted that no party secured enough seats to form a government alone, but NATO will work with any future leadership. He also underlined NATO’s commitment to maintaining stability in Bosnia and the Western Balkans.
