German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier congratulated President Vjosa Osmani on the 17th anniversary of Kosova’s Independence Day, reaffirming Germany’s steadfast support for Kosova’s stability, development, and European integration.

Steinmeier highlighted that Kosova has consistently aligned itself with the European Union’s foreign and security policies, notably in supporting Ukraine against Russia’s unlawful aggression.

“Over the years, we have continuously strengthened our cooperation in security policy, reforms for EU alignment, and in climate and energy policies. Germany remains unwavering in its support for Kosova’s international recognition and its aspirations to join the European Union,” Steinmeier stated in his message.

It is important to note that Germany was one of the first countries to recognize Kosova’s independence in February 2008.
