A series of events have been planned, with the flags of Kosova and Albania proudly waving in the main squares of Prishtina.

The celebrations begin, as tradition dictates, with a festive meeting of the Government of Kosova, followed by the raising of the Flag. Tributes will be paid at the Monument to the Missing, the Memorial to the Children Murdered, and the Monument to Heroines. There will also be homages at the graves of former President Ibrahim Rugova, national activist Adem Demaçi, and the Adem Jashari Memorial Complex in Prekaz.

On “George Bush” Square, the Kosova Security Force and Kosova Police will parade. The Independence Concert will take place at Skanderbeg Square in Prishtina.

Additionally, today marks the first scientific conference on war crimes committed during the Kosova War. A state reception will be hosted by the President, the Speaker of the Parliament, and the Prime Minister of Kosova, followed by a solemn concert by the Kosova Philharmonic.
