It took just one hour for two excavators to bring down the wall in North Mitrovica. It was later stated that no walls would be built in that area, and the reopening of the bridge connecting the north and south was announced.

The first to arrive and observe the work was the head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Natalia Apostollova, who described the moment as significant for Mitrovica and its citizens.

The dividing wall had stood in this part of the city for two consecutive months.
