The National Center for Books and Reading has inaugurated a unique exhibition that intertwines the paintings of Albana Shoshi with the literary collection of her father, the esteemed painter Zef Shoshi.

In addition to Albana Shoshi’s works, the exhibition at the National Center showcases two rare nude paintings by her father. One of these, dating back to 1972, is an oil painting that exemplifies Zef Shoshi’s masterful use of warm tones and their harmonious interplay. Originally conceived as a graphic sketch at the former Academy of Fine Arts, the piece evolved into a distinctive and compelling composition.

This intergenerational artistic dialogue features landscapes, still lifes, and intimate family portraits. The space is further enriched by a curated selection of books in Russian and Albanian from Zef Shoshi’s personal library. Among them are War and Peace by Tolstoy in both the original Russian and Albanian, a poetry collection by Pushkin, Chekhov’s stories in Italian, as well as works by Molière, Latin poets, and others.

Also present in this renowned library are books by Ismail Kadare, works on Gjergj Fishta, and studies on Albanian ethnography and visual arts.
